Sea water is the water of the seas and
oceans, covering about 70% of the Earth's
surface and comprising about 97% of the
world's water (only about 3% is fresh water).
Sea water contains a large amount of
dissolved solids, the most abundant of which
is sodium chloride (almost 3% by mass), other
salts include potassium chloride, bromide,
and iodide, magnesium chloride, and magnesium
sulphate.
